Chris and Stephanie's Spring Virginia Vineyard Wedding

I met Stephanie after designing the flowers for her friend, Brittany's, wedding last fall. (Brittany and Dan's wedding can be found here, here and here.) Stephanie described her vision for her wedding flowers as "It's a spring outdoor wedding and I'd like the flowers to look fresh and a little wild". Done and done! Her color story was neutral cream and robin's egg blue with accents of metallic gold. For her flowers we choose pastel shades of blue, lavender, pink and white. Other than making sure the flowers were seasonal, a little bit wild and pastel, I had free reign with the flower choices and design. Stephanie was such a dream to work with that I wish we could repeat her wedding every spring!

Stephanie and Chris' May wedding was held at the absolutely stunning Bluemont Vineyard, if you haven't visited I suggest to put it on your to-do list! (The little town is charming so plan to stop by The Bluemont Store to step back in time before heading to the vineyard) The Jewish ceremony was held outside under a chuppah constructed by Uncloudy Studio made of birch logs and lightly draped with fresh foliage garland and curly willow with the bases accented by potted hydrangea plants. They were married along a stone wall with a gorgeous view of the vineyard and Loudoun Valley behind them. The chairs at the ceremony were accented with gold mason jars brimming with a seasonal mix of wildflowers. These jars were then re-purposed on the dinner tables. The bride carried a lush bouquet of blue hydrangea and delphinium, purple lilacs and veronica, lavender roses and sweet peas, white tulips and pale pink ranunculus. The six bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the bridal bouquet and the men wore boutonnieres of lavender roses. The reception was held inside a to-die-for barn and the tables were decorated with a mix of wildflower mason jars and bud vases to compliment the lanterns and candles provided by Elegant Momentz by Kathleen. Elegant Momentz also served as the wedding planner and stylist for all things non-floral and Kathleen and her staff did an amazing job on the details! It was a beautiful day at an amazing venue with a rockstar group of vendors!

Here's a little note from the bride: "Jolie Joswick did the most amazing job on my flowers," Stephanie said. "I loved them more than any other flowers I have ever seen."

Outdoor Fall Wedding in DC with Blue Hydrangea, Seasonal Flowers and Herbs!

I feel very to lucky to have been a part of Adrianne and Danny's October wedding which took place her parents beautiful back yard in Bethesda. They are such a warm and sweet couple and were an absolute pleasure to work with! The bride was in love with hydrangea, dusty miller and mint so that was focus for the personal flowers. Adrianne carried a lush bouquet of blue hydrangea and silvery dusty miller with a touch of mint. The bridesmaids wore navy blue and held simple bouquets of dusty miller and mint which popped perfectly against their dresses. The ceremony took place under a chuppah constructed of birch poles and branches draped in an elegant foliage garland. We added a lot more color to the reception but placing natural wood boxes on the tables filled with a seasonal mix of dahlias, celosia, sunflowers, salvia, hydrangea, billy balls, dusty miller, amaranthus and herbs. The cocktail and buffet tables were accented with smaller wood boxes of potted herbs like mint, parsley, lemongrass and thyme.

So happy to have been a part of this special day! Enjoy the photos from Bonnie Sen Creative Photography and flowers by Uncloudy Studio!

Elegant Blue, White and Green Wedding at the Arts Club of Washington

Today I'm taking a trip down memory lane to an elegant and intimate wedding at the Arts Club of Washington in Washington, DC. The subtle color palette was light blue, green and white. The flowers used to create the soft and subdued bouquets were: blue hydrangea, white mini callas lilies, white and green roses, star of Bethlehem, green hypericum, dusty miller and fresh rosemary (for remembrance). The boutonnieres were white mini calla lilies with a touch of hydrangea and rosemary plus a bloom of star of Bethlehem. The corsages were bracelets of flowers incorporating hybrid delphinium, white spray roses, green hypericum berries and hints of rosemary. The setting for the ceremony was outdoors with white seating and two large floral arrangements in urns to accentuate the altar area. The floral displays included large calla lilies, bells of Ireland, hybrid delphinium, white oriental lilies, blue hydrangea, white snapdragons, roses and green mini coin.

Enjoy!
